The Davog Phenomenon

The name Davog (Dabhog, Dabheoc) is first mentioned around the time of St Patrick. He was said to be one of St Patrick's Disciples and the first Abbot of Lough Derg. Lough Derg may be known to a number of people as a place where you spend 3 days walking round in bare feet being starved and repenting for your sins. A number of Saints have "beds" there.

I would post some photos but you wouldn't catch me dead there. Contact your local parish priest for trip details.

This is me at work nowhere near Lough Derg. (Self Portrait)

A number of other Davogs Have contacted me. We are a very exclusive club. For some reason, everyone says "What?" after our names and insist on saying that Davog means Young David! What do they know!!

Other peoples interpretations of our name: Davogue, Devogue, De'Vere, Davoign, Devoig, Danong. I have entered data into a bank form  myself and have got at least two of these back!!! How hard is it?

Get in touch and let me know where you are from, where you are now and what you are doing? Lets get a movement going! Send a pic!
